Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What’s included in a basic car service?

As someone who’s looking for a car service Cairns locals can count on or maybe mechanics Cairns drivers can consider, taking a look at the specific inclusions could be your top priority. At its core, a basic car service, which is sometimes called a minor or general service, involves the following:

  • Replacing engine oil and the accompanying filter
  • Checking the components under the hood
  • Inspecting the car's underside
  • Surveying fluids such as coolants
  • Assessing overall tyre health (thickness of threads)
  • Observing external and internal lighting systems

While other services may have other inclusions, these are what’s commonly included when seeking local car mechanics. So if you’re looking for a comprehensive range of services rather than just the bare essentials, don’t hesitate to consider us at Lube Mobile.

Here, we’re not just your regular auto service centre; we can handle everything from a car check-up and car tune-up all the way to car repair, car breakdown, and even a pre purchase car inspection.

On top of this, we pride ourselves on having a dedicated and skilled team of mobile mechanics working six days a week. With just a simple phone call or online booking, they can generally get to servicing your vehicle 24 hours after your request.

And for those who can’t see their suburb in our door-to-door coverage, there’s no need to search for online terms like ‘good mechanic near me’ or ‘mechanic shops near me’ to find a car service Cairns locals can depend on.

You can simply get in touch with us, and we’ll be delighted to locate the nearest Lube Mobile in your area.

Do car services in Cairns include brake inspections?

If your brakes are due for a professional check, then it’s time to search for a car service Cairns drivers can depend on or a mechanic Cairns locals can consider. The good news is that such brake inspections are generally a staple for most vehicle shops in Australia, whether they provide a 24/7 car service or emergency auto repair service.

However, simply make sure that the car care experts working on your vehicle take a thorough look at the entire brake and control system. If it isn’t already included or recommended, ask for the rotors and brake fluid to be checked, not just the brake pads.

At Lube Mobile, not only do we have standard workshops and a mobile car service that can conduct comprehensive brake inspections, but each automotive mechanic on our team is also dedicated to giving you a clearer picture.

We understand that not everyone is an avid vehicle enthusiast. That’s why we make it a point to lay out the processes and potential issues without complex terms or jargon. At the end of the day, as a car service Cairns locals can rely on, we also want to give you peace of mind by explaining exactly how your car was serviced.

What’s the difference between a logbook service and a regular service?

Even after you find a car service Cairns locals can consider, it’s important that you know the difference between a logbook service and a regular service. It’s simple; just think of a logbook service as routinely scheduled maintenance and a regular service as maintenance that can happen whenever needed.

A logbook service is generally based on your car manufacturer’s recommendations (usually found in the owner’s manual). This could be a plot of service checkpoints at certain dates or kilometre markers. On the other hand, if you feel as if your vehicle isn’t performing at its best or if there’s an issue, you can come into an auto workshop anytime for a regular service.

We at Lube Mobile understand that both logbook services and regular services have their place. So whether you’re keen on getting a vehicle service with oil change inclusions or looking to get a car battery replacement, you can opt for our offers.

On top of our regular service, we have a logbook service for cars under seven years old. This gives you the opportunity to follow your recommended logbook schedule.

And for cars over seven years old, we still have routine services every 15,000 km or every year. We also have a 3-year service conducted every three years or every 45,000 km. Lastly, we have the Ultimate Service, our most extensive service that even boasts an engine management system diagnostic scan.

Founded on trust and expertise

Over the years, our commitment to service quality and convenience has positioned us at Lube Mobile as one of the leading figures in the industry.

With humble beginnings in 1982, we have grown to build a team of over 250 professionals and maintain a network of workshops across Australia. Nowadays, we’re proud to have drivers trust us for all their vehicle care needs, from everyday servicing and repairs to a used car inspection and more.
