Safety and performance are paramount when on the road. They have a wide array of options, such as their Federal Mud Tyres, Federal Xplora MT, and Federal RT Tyres, each offering reliability and compatibility with a range of performance needs.

If you need help maintaining your tyres or are shopping for new ones, reach out to Lube Mobile with your questions. With decades of experience and consistent service, we’re more than happy to help you find the best solution for your needs.

Tyres and Car Performance

Your tyres have a say in your car’s performance in ways you may not immediately realise. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Road safety. Your tyres are your car's main touchpoint with the road, meaning that the right tyres ensure good road grip, stability, and a safer journey.
  • Performance. Especially for precision driving, the quality of your tyres contributes to how well your vehicle handles acceleration, sharp turns, and precision maneuvering. Bridgestone tyres are good options if you’re looking into options for this purpose.
  • Adaptability to driving environments. The depth, pattern, and build of your tyres can mean the difference between a slip and a grip while driving through rainy streets or travelling through rough roads.
  • Vehicle compatibility. Just as you prefer to wear shoes that perfectly fit you, your tyres should match your vehicle. Brands like Bridgestone offer a wide range of options suited for various vehicles; if you’re undecided on the ideal option for you, then reach out to Lube Mobile, and we'll be happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the different types of tyre treads available, and how do they affect performance?

The treads on your tyres serve a unique purpose, as each tyre tread pattern is optimised for unique driving conditions. Below are some of the more common tread types:

  • Symmetrical tread. The tread has a consistent pattern on both its inner and outer surfaces. This tread type is ideal for inner-city or suburban driving and is a good choice for standard passenger vehicles.
  • Asymmetrical tread. The intentional dual-tread design has different patterns on its inner and outer halves, making it ideal for a wide range of driving conditions. This tread type is a favourite for sports cars due to its good grip on both wet and dry roads.
  • Directional tread. Like asymmetrical treads, directional treads are ideal for wet road driving, as their pattern is designed to divert water and enhance grip on wet surfaces. However, these tyres have limited rotation; consult with your Lube Mobile mechanic first if you’re interested in their directional tread tyres for your vehicle.

Lube Mobile can steer you towards the best match for your driving. Our mechanics can replace your worn-out Federal tyres, refit them, or provide other tyre services for your vehicle.

Are there any specific features I should look for in tyres to enhance fuel efficiency?

Matching your tyres with your usual driving environment is best for optimum performance, safety, and driving comfort. Here are some factors to consider before you swap out your tyres.

  • Your usual weather. If you're constantly battling the elements on your daily commute, Bridgestone, for example, has dedicated tyres designed for different driving conditions.
  • Your driving style. If you’re an adventurous driver, asymmetrical or directional tyre treads could support your driving better than symmetrical ones.
  • Vehicle type. Your sedan will need different tyres from your four-wheel drive, and fitting each one with the right tyres not only ensures they drive smoothly but also contributes to keeping them at optimum performance.
  • Tread depth. Tread depth matters too: a shallow tread could make your car lose traction on wet or slippery terrain, consequently affecting your car's braking efficiency.

If you’re looking to replace your Federal tyres or try out Bridgestone tyres, then Lube Mobile can help. We stock tyres that suit a variety of makes and models, and our mobile tyre service is available six days a week.

You can send us a booking at any time of the day, and we can be at your location within twenty-four hours of your booking.

What are the benefits of choosing premium branded tyres over budget options?

Both premium branded tyres and more affordable options have their own advantages.

Premium tyres often employ advanced technology and rigorous testing standards. This ensures that they offer optimum grip, shorter stopping distances, and improved performance in challenging conditions such as wet or icy roads. Premium tyres also typically offer longer tread life, meaning you won’t need replacements as frequently and translating to cost savings in the long run.

By comparison, the more affordable tyre options are usually available at a fraction of the price of their premium counterparts. Affordable non-branded tyres are also good options for short-term or non-high-performance use, such as temporary replacements if you’re driving short distances or if you’re selling your vehicle.

Generally speaking, premium brands like Bridgestone are a wise investment for drivers who prioritise safety, performance, and long-term efficiency. If you feel that other options are a better fit for your vehicle at the moment, Lube Mobile is more than happy to help by offering our range of services for your perusal.
