Lube Mobile’s Mechanical Check Service: The Key To A Worry-free Car Purchase

You’re looking to buy a used car that seems great, but you can’t shake a nagging doubt – is it really as good as it looks? This is where a mechanical check comes in! It’s like a doctor’s visit for your car, checking under the hood to see what’s really going on.

Good thing you’ve come across Lube Mobile, Australia’s trusted mobile mechanic when it comes to pre-purchase inspections and other high-quality vehicle services.

Keep reading to learn why used car buyers should get a mechanical check and how Lube Mobile can be your partner in reliable vehicle maintenance.

What is a mechanical check, and why is it important for my vehicle?

Just as you would visit a doctor to ensure you’re in good health, you hire a mechanic for car inspection services to make sure your vehicle is in good working order. Vehicle inspectors typically take an in-depth look at the different parts of your car, from the engine to the exterior. But why is this important when buying a car?

When you’re choosing among the used car deals you have on the table, there’s often a bit of worry. Is the car as good as it seems? Will there be costly repairs down the line? A mechanical check can answer these questions and more. It uncovers any hidden issues and helps you know exactly what you’re buying. This way, you can feel confident about your purchase, knowing you’re making a safe, smart choice.

The components of a mechanical check

Having learned that a mechanical check is essential before you buy used cars, here are some procedures a car inspection mechanic at Lube Mobile will follow:

  • Mechanic condition assessment. The engine, transmission, and drivetrain are usually inspected for performance and efficiency. This assessment forms the heart of the check, as these are the primary components that power the vehicle.
  • Body and paint evaluation. In this stage of the mechanical check, the exterior is the main focal point. Here, our mechanics will look at some telltale signs that indicate possible damage, previous accidents, and areas where rust might’ve settled.
  • Interior inspection. As you very well may know, it’s the inside that counts, and this saying also applies to your vehicle. Aside from what’s under the hood, our mechanics will take a look at comfort elements to ensure that they are working as intended. This would include electrical systems and even the overall upholstery.
  • Test drive and roadworthiness assessment. Parts like the suspension, steering, and brakes are thoroughly evaluated, but this time while they’re in use. After all, they play a crucial role in ensuring smooth rides, precise control, and safe stopping – all of which can only be 100% checked in practice.
  • Comprehensive report. A vehicle condition report packs everything into one convenient resource. However, we go an extra kilometre and include a personalised IRIS video in our mechanical check. This way, you’ll get an explanation in plain, simple language, which you can replay at any time or wherever you are.

How can I find a reputable mechanic or service centre for the mechanical check?

Searching for a reputable mechanic or service centre for a mechanical check can be overwhelming with the vast options available out there. Below, you’ll find key elements to consider, helping you find a mechanic you can truly trust with your pre-purchase car inspection:

Experience

The more experienced the mechanic, the better the chances are that they will provide good service quality. Prioritise a mechanic for vehicle safety inspection with ample experience and impressive credentials that underscore their capacity to diagnose and resolve car issues adeptly.

Services

Confirm that your potential used car inspection mechanic can accommodate your specific needs. Some may specialise in certain types of repairs or vehicles, so their services should align with your requirements, whether it’s a quick check or an in-depth pre-purchase inspection.

Convenience

Opt for a service centre that fits your lifestyle in terms of location and operational hours. Services offering a mobile car inspection add an extra layer of convenience if taking your vehicle to a shop poses a challenge.

Lube Mobile offers convenient mechanical check services at your doorstep.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What questions should I ask a mechanic?

You can ask your mechanic a few questions to ensure that you make an informed decision when a mechanical check is being conducted on your prospective vehicle. Here are some questions you may want to consider asking:

  • ‘How many years have you been working on cars, particularly models like mine?’ are good starters. This can help you check whether they have the necessary pre-purchase vehicle inspection training and knowledge to handle your vehicle.
  • ‘Do you charge by the job or by the hour?’ Always ask for a detailed estimate before work begins so you can set your expectations for how much you’ll likely spend on your mechanical check.
  • ‘What type of warranty do you offer on your work?’ It’s essential to know the mechanic’s warranty policy. This will protect you if there are any issues with the inspection report they provide.

Does the cost of a mechanical check vary depending on the vehicle’s make and model?

Yes, the cost of a mechanical check can vary depending on the vehicle’s make and model. The reason behind this variance lies in the complexity and exclusivity of different car parts. Certain makes and models have more intricate systems, requiring additional time and special tools to inspect.

At Lube Mobile, we provide an itemised quote before we start on any work to help ensure you know exactly what you’re paying for, eliminating any unwelcome surprises down the line. We also maintain competitive prices, charging only for the actual labour time involved in the job and not the travel time.

Moreover, the value of our service extends beyond the mechanics’ work. By choosing Lube Mobile, you gain time savings, convenience, and the elimination of potential towing fees.

Is a mechanical check necessary for new cars as well?

Absolutely, a mechanical check is crucial, even for new cars. It’s a common misconception that new cars are devoid of any mechanical flaws. While they are typically in prime condition, there’s still a possibility of manufacturing defects or overlooked issues during the assembly process. A pre-purchase car inspection ensures your new ride is operating at peak performance and offers you peace of mind.
