Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I get a service history report for my Skoda in Melbourne?

There are a few ways to get a service history report for your Skoda.

The most common option is through a vehicle service logbook. A vehicle logbook keeps track of more than just your vehicle’s repairs or maintenance work but also the details of vehicle use, such as kilometres travelled and odometer readings, and the details of your vehicle, such as make, model, and engine capacity.

For second-hand vehicles, your licenced car dealer or your vehicle’s previous owner should be able to turn over any service history information to you upon completion of the sale. Otherwise, a vehicle identity inspection with an authorised service specialist may be required if your vehicle doesn’t have a readily accessible service history.

A vehicle logbook is also an important document for commercial-use vehicles, as the service history could be useful for tax purposes. Logbooking applies to the likes of a Mercedes Benz service and other vehicle types as well.

Lube Mobile offers logbook servicing for various vehicle types, including Skoda vehicles, and will stamp your logbook as proof of service.

Does your service centre provide genuine parts?

It’s perfectly normal to enquire about genuine replacement parts for your Skoda, especially if it’s in need of some serious parts replacement. Licenced service stations and providers like Lube Mobile can offer genuine parts from name brands. Lube Mobile, for example, offers authentic Bridgestone tyres for those who prefer the brand.

There are many reasons for preferring authentic parts for your Skoda service Melbourne package.

  • Parts compatibility. Generally speaking, genuine parts from certain manufacturers are designed specifically for your car model, ensuring a perfect fit and compatibility, which leads to optimum performance levels and efficiency.
  • High-quality standards. Genuine parts meet high-quality standards, assuring their durability, function, and overall performance, providing peace of mind that you’re getting the best for your vehicle.
  • Warranty coverage. Using genuine parts helps maintain your vehicle’s warranty, especially through logbook servicing. Conversely, using non-genuine parts could void your warranty or make it difficult to claim insurance.
  • Road safety. Genuine parts undergo extensive testing to meet multiple safety standards. By using these parts, you’re helping ensure that the safety of your vehicle is not compromised when you’re on the road.
  • Long-term cost efficiency. Despite their higher upfront cost compared to other aftermarket parts, genuine parts offer long-term cost savings because of their durability and compatibility. Consequently, genuine parts can mean fewer replacements and minimise the risk of potential damage to other vehicle components.

At Lube Mobile, you can be confident that your Skoda is in reliable and professional hands, whether you’re looking for Bendigo mechanics or Skoda service Melbourne-wide. We understand the importance of using genuine parts for repairs and replacements, which is why we source authentic, reliable parts for our services.

What is included in a standard Skoda service package?

Because there are many car repair and maintenance services out there, it helps to be familiar with the service items in a standard service package, especially if you’re searching for Skoda service Melbourne-wide. With that said, standard service packages are designed to keep your vehicle running efficiently and safely through service items that align with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

While the specifics of a standard Skoda maintenance package can vary based on the model, age, and mileage of the vehicle, a standard service package generally covers the following aspects:

  • Oil and oil filter change. This service is essential for maintaining engine health and typically includes draining the old motor oil, replacing the oil filter, and refilling with fresh, high-quality engine oil suitable for your Skoda model.
  • Fluid levels check and top-up. A standard service will typically check the levels of various crucial fluids (such as the brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, windscreen washer fluid, and power steering fluid) and top them up as necessary to prevent any potential issues related to low levels.
  • Brake inspection. Being one of the key service items in a standard package, brake inspections involve a thorough check of the brake pads, discs, lines, and fluid to ensure your vehicle’s braking system is functioning properly.

Depending on your chosen package, there could be additional checks or services included. Lube Mobile offers various Skoda repair and service packages that could also include the following:

  • tyre inspection;
  • battery performance assessment;
  • lighting and electrical components check;
  • engine inspection;
  • steering and suspension system assessment;
  • exhaust system check; and
  • vehicle road test.
